Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Wednesday night was decorated with the "Grand Cross Medal of Solidarity" by the Diocese of Callao.
The President received the recognition for his outstanding social commitment aimed at benefitting residents of the said port region.
Afterwards, he thanked the religious institution and praised the efforts undertaken by priests to move the community forward.
"Callao is brave, but as we all know, it has a heart," the Head of State expressed.
Mr. Kuczynski also said Callao must be granted opportunities, so its youth will see progress ahead. In this sense, he addressed the need for society to boost the role of education.
Led by Monsignor Jose Luis del Palacio, the ceremony took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Diocese.
