President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Sunday encouraged Peruvians to read and enjoy reading.
In a Facebook video, the Head of State underlined reading helps citizens learn about history, remote cultures and all kinds of science.
"A book is the passport to knowledge. It means education, and it allows us to intellectually enjoy the things that may be [physically] very distant, but at the same close to us," the 78-year-old affirmed.
Remarks were made on the occasion of World Book Day 2017.
Likewise, Peru's top official showed his library, including writings by his father Maxime Kuczynski.
The economist also affirmed he is a book-lover interested in history titles.
"Let's continue reading, and let us keep educating ourselves,” he pointed out.
