Peru’s President Ollanta Humala reaffirmed education is a “key tool” in the efforts undertaken to reduce inequality gaps in the Pacific Alliance and the entire region.

Thus, the President underlined his administration undertook efforts to increase investments in the aforementioned sector, which reached 3.5% of Peru’s GDP.

Likewise, Mr. Humala considered the said investments must be part of a Comprehensive State Policy and “not an isolated measure.”

“Nonetheless, we are aware there are still challenges to overcome because there are countries in the Pacific Alliance, which conduct deeper interventions in the education sector,” he told.

Remarks were made during the presentation “Pacific Alliance: Future Vision” held at the Paracas city’s Hilton Hotel.

It was comprised in the Business Summit of the Pacific Alliance, which is made up of high-level businessmen of the four member countries and aimed at promoting the mechanism at the regional and global level, provide suggestions to improve its development and boost joint actions towards third markets.
