Last October potato production reached 236,678 tons, which represent a 9.1% growth, if compared to the same period last year, confirmed today Peru’s National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
Production was up due to the increase registered in the following regions: Cusco (209.50%); Ica (116.40%); Lambayeque (105.90%); Apurimac (93.50%); Tacna (49.40%); Huanuco (29.30%); Piura (21.40%); Junin (19.40%); Amazonas (11.10%); La Libertad (9.30%); Ayacucho (4.50%) and Cajamarca (3.60%).
Livestock production boosted in the following regions: Junin (10.50%); Arequipa (4.40%); Amazonas (3.10%); Huanuco (3.10%); Lima (1.60%) and Puno (0.80%).
Likewise, poultry bolstered in 12 regions, especially in Lambayeque (16.60%); Ica (8.40%) and Ancash (7.10%).
