Peruvian Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano expressed confidence Congress will ratify the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, since it will be essential for the country's economic development.

President Ollanta Humala will decide to send the said trade agreement to Congress when deemed appropriate, Cateriano posted on Twitter.

TPP was signed last Thursday by 12 countries such as Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, United States, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam, which account for close to 40% of world's GDP.

The said countries are allowed to ratify the aforementioned trade agreement within a two-year period.
