Mining growth and execution of major projects, achieved under President Ollanta Humala's administration, were highlighted by Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano on Wednesday.
"Copper production increased 51.64% in the first half," he noted via Twitter.
The result was deemed as "outstanding" by the President of the Council of Ministers.
"Once again, figures confirm that mining sector expanded during our time in office. Likewise, large mining projects, such as Las Bambas, were developed," Cateriano posted.
According to the official, Cerro Verde expansion proves mining boom is possible while respecting the environment.
