Peru's Prime Minister Fernando Zavala supervised actions undertaken to tackle natural disaster emergencies in northern Tumbes region.

As is known, the Andean country is currently at the mercy of torrential downpours and floods.

At the site, the high ranking official was joined by Ministers Jose Hernandez (Agriculture and Irrigation), as well as Alfonso Grados (Labor and Employment).

The three officials toured around ravines hit by heavy rains, such as Bocapan ravine, located 28 km south of Tumbes.

Earlier, the cabinet chief oversaw works carried out on the Panamericana Norte (North Pan American) Highway linking Piura and Tumbes regions.

Likewise, he met with Tumbes Governor Ricardo Flores, as well as mayors of the most affected areas in the region.
