Peruvian Prime Minister Fernando Zavala noted the Prosecutor’s Office outstanding work that yielded recent arrests in Odebrecht bribery case.
The Ministerial Cabinet chief ratified full support to the Public Ministry via his Twitter account.
The first Odebrecht-related arrest came last night as Peru’s National Police captured Edwin Luyo Barrientos, former Chairman of the Lima Metro Line 1 Tender Committee and former APRA government official.
In addition, the Prosecutor’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for former Vice-Minister of Communications Jorge Cuba Hidalgo, whose whereabouts are a mystery so far.
The police raided Cuba’s house on Friday, but found no trace of him.
Cuba Hidalgo served the Alan Garcia's 2006-2011 administration, too.
