A legislative power request that will be submitted by the Executive Branch to Congress will be "as detailed as possible" in order to avoid any doubts about related matters, Peruvian Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz affirmed Monday.

Said legislative powers will be limited to issues concerning the country's economy and natural disaster prevention.

According to Araoz, this initiative does not imply increasing tax rates, thus preventing tax evasion.

On the contrary, it will address the steps Peru must take to fully join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Considering the fact that Congress had repealed several bills —enacted by the Executive under the powers granted last year— she affirmed this new Cabinet's petition will comprise specifically-detailed information.

"This time, we have the duty to submit the power request as detailed as possible, so there is no room for doubts or misinterpretations," the Cabinet chief said.

Within this context, Araoz noted she is willing to meet with legislators in order to discuss the Executive's initiative.

Finally, the also Second Vice-President pointed out this petition will include fewer subjects, compared to her predecessor's one, and it will be mainly based on specific issues, such as economic reactivation.
