Defense Ministers of Peru, Jakke Valakivi, and Paraguay, Diogenes Martinez, signed on Monday an inter-institutional agreement to promote cooperation between both nations’ Armed Forces on security and defense-related matters.
Such covenant will strengthen following areas: Training; security and defense; defense industries; scientific-technological cooperation; peace operations; humanitarian aid; research and development, among others.
The event saw the participation of Paraguay's Ambassador to Peru Julio Duarte Van Humbeck, as well as general commanders of Peru's Army, Navy and Air Force.
The official ceremony was held at the Lima-based Army General Headquarters.
It must be noted the Paraguayan official currently pays an official visit to Lima.
