Peru ousts Brazil from Copa America 2016 (Full Story)

22:56 | Foxborough (MA) US, Jun. 12.

Peru's adult team defeated Brazil (1-0) and thus ousted the soccer power from the 2016 Copa America Centennial.

Raul 'the Flea' Ruidiaz scored a polemic goal in the 75th minute, which was later legitimized by referees.

Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese became the Man of the Match by stopping balls from different angles. Also displaying extraordinary performances were Christian Cueva and Paolo Guerrero.

The top moment of the game was seen, when Andy Polo’s pass was slid into net by Ruidiaz.

The Verde-Amarelha desperately looked for the equalizer without any success.

Brazil, which had reached the tournament quarterfinals in every CopaAmerica edition since 1993, was eliminated with the loss, although a draw was merely needed to advance.

Instead, Peru leads Group B (7 points) having beat Haiti and seen a tie with Ecuador.

Thus, the Inca team will now face Group B's Colombia in the quarterfinals in East Rutherford, NJ on Friday.

The game took place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
