In the next few hours, Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry and its Zealand counterpart will start to speed up the visa delivery process, so that Peruvians can make it to Wellington to attend November's World Cup play-off in time.
Remarks were made by Peruvian Consul General to Australia Gabriel Pacheco, responsible for consular permissions in
New Zealand.
"We will meet New Zealand's immigration authority accredited in Sydney first thing in the morning tomorrow to reiterate our awareness of the upcoming Peru-New Zealand game," he told RPP local news station.
"We'll seek relevant assistance so that
visa requests can be processed in shorter time and Peruvians can attend the soccer match without any hassles," Pacheco affirmed.
Currently, a visitor visa is granted in 20 working days and its cost is US$165. Once granted, applicants must pay a final fee in the sum of US$28.
"I understand travel companies in Peru are arranging tour packages already, including air tickets, accommodation and match tickets. They are just waiting for FIFA to confirm the schedule," he indicated.
