Peru is currently involved in establishing new free trade agreements with Turkey and Honduras, and subsequent FTA negotiations are likely to take place with India and Indonesia, announced Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva.

Mincetur’s head has informed Peru’s commercial offices abroad of the need to embark on a new search for export markets; by doing so, the country will continue to diversify destinations of its exports.

“To date, Peru has signed 17 trade agreements –which translates into 52 destination markets– that helped to maintain our export levels,” she noted.

“This way 93% of our exports have been granted trade preferences,” Silva added.
