Emergency caused by heavy rains, overflowing rivers, landslides and floods battering Peru has claimed 97 lives to date, National Emergency Operations Center's (COEN) latest report revealed on Wednesday.
According to updated data, natural disasters have so far left 124,161 victims, 813,239 citizens affected, whereas damaged homes stand at 182,116.
Only in Piura, the weather event left 8 dead, 20,968 victims, 238,855 affected, and 48,952 houses uninhabitable.
Concerning Lima, there are a total of 10 dead people, 6,725 victims, 22,699 affected citizens, and 8,637 homes are not suitable for living in anymore.
