'Peru mucho gusto' food festival to attract over 35,000 visitors

Over 35,000 visitors are expected to attend 'Peru Mucho Gusto' food festival, to be held in the northern region of Tacna.
The festival, which will run from May 31 through June 2, will offer dishes from nine Peruvian regions, including Tacna, lca, Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Madre de Dios, Moquegua and Puno.

"The nine regions will not only showcase the best of their cuisine, but also promote tourism and handicrafts,"
Peru's Deputy Minister of Tourism, Claudia Cornejo, told Andina news agency.

She added that the culinary festival, organized by Peru's export and tourism promotion board or Promperu, with the support of the city of Tacna and the regional government, also expects to receive 15,000 people from Chile.
