Peru's Women and Vulnerable Populations Ministry (MIMP) 2016's budget totals S/.361 (about US$107.76 million), the head of the sector Marcela Huaita reported.

The fund allows to take several actions in favor of women, children, adolescents and disabled people.

This amount will be allocated to the National Program against Family and Sexual Violence, National Family Welfare Program (Inabif), Women Emergency Centers (CEM) and other entities with the aim of expanding coverage.

Likewise, Huaita said her portfolio is focused on promoting respect to women, as well as female and vulnerable population's development.

By 2016, MIMP will also execute the Yachay National Program, Decent Life (Vida Digna) and the new Non-Contributory Pension Program for People with Severe Disabilities living in poverty.

Yachay National Program was created to restore rights of street children and adolescents and thus reach comprehensive development.

Decent Life provides rights protection, as well as basic care and specialized services to elderly people living in the streets.

Non-Contributory Pension Program for People with Severe Disabilities and from underprivileged areas allocates a financial support of S/.300 (about US$89.55) every two months to improve their quality of life.
