The Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation Milton von Hesse said Peru’s construction sector will increase by more than 8% in 2015 due to more optimistic business expectations.
“We maintain our growth projections above 8%, since business expectations concerning the construction sector and development of housing projects have changed significantly,” he indicated after opening the 24th edition of ExpoMivivienda.
The government official noted there is a perception in the sector that stock of new houses is being reduced, which would explain the recovery of monthly sales that already achieve levels of two years ago.
“Monthly sales have started to improve at levels seen two years ago, and that is good news. I’ve always preferred to be optimistic rather than pessimistic and that is why I keep on thinking the sector will grow above 8%,” he stated.
