21:02 | Lima, Oct. 08.

Peru maintains a macroeconomic policy that generates stability and suggests optimism about the future, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala said as he met with Enrique Garcia, CEO at Latin American Development Bank (CAF).

Mr. Humala highlighted the countercyclical policies, and the public investment and expenditures expansion strategies adopted by his government to tackle the global slowdown.

He also stressed the implementation and strengthening of social policy, which is a tool to continue reducing poverty, chronic malnutrition of children, and inequality gaps.

Peruvian leader underlined his government keeps working on economic measures with the prudence and responsibility required to take decisions on such field, meeting the needs of families, especially of those most in need.

CAF has provided advice on development and supported a number of road infrastructure projects in Peru.
