The municipality of Lima's Magdalena del Mar district put into operation a comprehensive plan to guarantee security at Mistura 2016 Gastronomic fair.

The mega-culinary event will be held at Costa Verde seashore on September 2-11.

Said fair will host close to 500,000 attendees, among national and foreign visitors.

A video monitoring center, located at Costa Verde seashore, will be connected to surveillance video cameras set up in the area.

Furthermore, district's municipal police officers riding motorcycles, quad-bikes and segways, as well as a Canine Brigade will be on the alert 24 hours a day.

Likewise, the municipality relies on an evacuation plan, which includes alarms and a security protocol in case of tsunami or earthquake.

Peruvian Gastronomy Society (Apega) Executive Director Bernardo Roca Rey explained Mistura serves as "first stop for visitors," who later move on to other parts of the country to arrive in different tourist destinations.

The event will feature renowned chefs, who will represent exclusive Peruvian eateries offering their most delicious specialties to visitors.

Each dish will cost S/5.00 (about US$ 1.50).

"The special offer is called 5x5 given prices of dishes and the five-star restaurants offering them," Roca Rey affirmed.
