Peru's Women and Vulnerable Populations Minister Ana Maria Choquehuanca took part in the closing of Dream Builder — Ella Exporta (She Exports), a national congress gathering start-up entrepreneurs and businesswomen from 12 regions around the country.

During the event, the minister stressed Peru's leadership in women's business development across Latin America.

In this regard, she noted 12% of firms in Peru are led by women and that more and more females are starting up their own businesses.

Choquehuanca affirmed her portfolio is fostering economic empowerment and leadership measures among women, which is necessary in order to maximize their economic autonomy. 

The event was organized by the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) and the U.S. Embassy in Peru —sponsor of the Dream Builder training program.
