Peru and South Korea ratified the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters.
Agreement was signed by Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Maria Sanchez and Korean Ambassador to Lima Jang Keun-ho.
The bilateral treaty aims to ensure that both nations provide cooperation and mutual assistance to research and criminal proceedings through their competent agencies.
Thus, they will contribute to crime prevention, persecution and repression on both territories.
In this sense, Sanchez noted ratification reinforces excellent Peru-South Korea relations by expanding bilateral cooperation to judicial sphere, and thus benefit national policies based on transparency and anti-corruption principles, as well as those against other crimes.
The official ceremony took place at Lima-based Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters last Wednesday.
