In order to improve teaching quality, Junin region officials delivered the first 200-laptop batch to native Peruvian teachers based in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers (Vraem).

Corresponding delivery took place during a regional government-sponsored ceremony held in Rio Tambo district.

Teachers expressed gratitude to regional government officials, as well as their interest in strengthening pedagogical support aimed to develop better learning techniques.

"Laptops delivery commits us to becoming better [teachers] and better trained. Likewise, we confirm our commitment to giving society better students, and thus better human beings," Vraem educators stated.

Following the event, Junin Governor Angel Unchupaico underlined such computers are part of a batch that will be fully delivered while in office.

Such initiative is comprised in the commitments assumed with the education sector.

"It’s our priority to support a true social inclusion, in which Vraem area-based educators will rely on the same work conditions as those in urban areas," Unchupaico highlighted.

Vraem had been considered a danger zone due to the presence of drug-traffickers and terrorists. The area has the proper conditions to produce large amounts of cocaine. To counter this, the government has engaged in conflict with insurgents and implemented a social inclusion policy to benefit residents.
