Peru's Development and Social Inclusion Minister (Midis) Cayetana Aljovin delivered humanitarian aid to disaster-affected families from Lima's eastern Carapongo area in Chosica-Lurigancho district.

Likewise, the cabinet member oversaw the distribution of basic services across the area.

As is known, the Andean country was recently at the mercy of "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon characterized by heavy rains, landslides and floods. They destroyed infrastructure and crops, as well as left many citizens homeless.

It must be noted Midis is also in charge of assisting affected families staying at shelters set up by the government.

The high-ranking official also listened to the needs of citizens.

In addition, local families benefited from a vaccination campaign aimed at protecting their children from flu.

Aljovin was joined by Women and Vulnerable Populations Minister Ana Maria Romero-Lozada on the occasion.
