"Peru, Hidden Treasure," an 80-min documentary that explores the Inca nation's natural wonders will be released in Peruvian theaters on November 9, the country's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) said on Friday.
Additionally, it was reported Netflix subscribers will be able to enjoy the material on November 25.
The film depicts a journey through Peru and was helmed by Uruguayan filmmaker Luis Ara, who invites people to rediscover treasures locked in time that are still unfamiliar to many Peruvians and seek to captivate thousands around the world.
"The shooting was exciting. Each of the places we visited had their charm. The coast, its amazing beaches, the twilight in the desert, sailing the Marañon River in the
[Peruvian] rainforest, meeting new people all over Peru, and the archaeological sites that make you feel you travel in time. All this has been an unforgettable experience we want to share with the world," Ara commented.
The documentary's main characters include Peruvian nature,
landscapes and geography, but also explores the country's
culinary scene and cultural heritage of previous civilizations.
Ara's team traveled through several regions for eight months to shoot this production.
