Peru’s Economy and Finance Ministry has authorized the transfer of S/72.73 million (about US$21.25 million) to various regional and local governments.

Supreme Decree N° 329-2016-EF provides that said resources will be allocated to the execution of 15 sanitation infrastructure ventures.

The decree also limits the use of transferred funds, in order to prevent them from being used for purposes different from those for which they were allocated.

Fund beneficiaries will have to report physical and financial progress made on the projects against their execution schedule, as well as agreements and/or addenda signed, for the supervisory and follow-up purposes stipulated in item 2.6, article 2 of law 30513.

Likewise, expenditure limits have been set for Culture and Health Ministries, at S/499.85 million (about US$146 million) and S/7.192 billion (about US$2.1 billion), respectively.
