Peru Gov't reaffirms support for supervisory bodies
Lima, Dec. 5.
The Executive Power reaffirms its support for the work done by Peruvian institutions in charge of enforcing rules in the country, Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz affirmed Tuesday.
"We reaffirm our support for the institutions responsible for enforcing rules in our country, such as the Comptroller General's Office, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Judicial Branch," she expressed.
During her participation in the ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Lima Declaration, Araoz stressed the efforts undertaken by the supervisory body led by Comptroller General
The also Second Vice-President pointed out the current administration respects the decisions made within the justice system, "which acts with total autonomy, as required by the principles of the rule of law."
According to Araoz, the role of the Comptroller General's Office leads to tranquility by relying on a technical perspective that promotes efficiency and transparency in the public administration.
In this sense, she also ratified the respect for its autonomy and noted President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's administration promotes accountability at all times.
The event brought together several Peruvian authorities and more than 40 Supreme Audit Institution delegations from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
