Production Minister, Piero Ghezzi, has formally began Peru’s highly anticipated European roadshow to investors by visiting on Monday the Madrid Stock Exchange with a business delegation.

The Spain event constitutes the first leg of a Peruvian roadshow which is to be held in two other major European capitals, including Zurich, Switzerland, and London, Great Britain.

Organized by inPERU, a non-profit association founded by the main economic stakeholders of the Peruvian capital market,  the business event is aimed at attracting prospective investors to Peru’s core sectors of infrastructure, health and education, thus tapping potential trade and investment opportunities.

inPeru’s President, Jose Antonio Blanco, reported the trade event has generated a great deal of interest from entrepreneurs due to the changes and reforms the Ollanta Humala administration is being undertaken

“Infrastructure, education and health are priority areas of great mutual interest […] but investors have also requested the project portfolio in the country’s financial and telecommunications fields,” Blanco said in statements to RPP radio.

Likewise, Blanco stated that investors have showed interest for knowing the business potential of the so-called Pacific Alliance trade bloc, which groups Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
