The Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry promoted deals worth US$430 million, by bringing 2,433 national small- and medium-sized enterprises closer to 900 foreign purchasers, Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) revealed.

The support was provided through 21 macro-rounds held in 15 regions between 2012 and 2016.

As an example, Centro Exporta 2016 took place in Ica on June 26th.
The round saw the participation of nearly 100 SMEs from Huanuco, Pasco, Junin, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Cusco, Puno and Ica regions, which were granted an opportunity to internationalize products.

Over 30 purchasers from United States, Canada, France, Denmark, United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal, Chile, Brazil and Colombia were selected to participate in the event thanks to support provided by Peru’s Trade Offices (OCEX) based abroad.

Processed fruits and vegetables, such as aguaymantos, dried potatoes, maca, quinoa, sacha-inchi, chia, kiwicha, Lima beans, beans, Hass and Fuerte avocados, sweet granadilla, ginger, berries, grapes, asparagus, onions, peppers, tangerines and Pisco were traded on the occasion.
