Peru foreign minister to attend Unasur meeting in Paraguay

Peruvian Foreign Minister Rafael Roncagliolo is to attend a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) to be held March 17 in Asuncion, Paraguay.
In line with its foreign policy objectives, the Peruvian government has attached great importance to the meeting which will discuss issues related to institutional development of Unasur.

The meeting was convened by Paraguay, which holds the rotating presidency of Unasur, and aims to further strengthen the 12-member regional bloc.

Minister Roncagliolo will meet with counterparts from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Guyana and Suriname.

Defense Minister Alberto Otarola will be the acting foreign minister during Roncagliolo's absence.
