Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Maria Sanchez highlighted the importance the Pacific Alliance attaches to education as key element to fulfill goals set in the Framework Agreement, which seeks economic development of member states as tool for well-being.

After attending the opening session of the bloc’s ministerial meeting with observer states, Sanchez participated as moderator at Panel II: Education as Key Element for Human Development, where she noted the Pacific Alliance seeks to overcome economic inequality and ensure social inclusion.

She stressed the crucial role of education in creating opportunities and addressing inequality by highlighting its importance in the Pacific Alliance through a three-pronged approach.

One of them includes the Pacific Alliance's Student and Academic Mobility Platform, aimed at enhancing exchange of undergraduate, degree, doctorate exchange students, professors and researchers between the four countries.

Education is also underpinned through activities by the Education Technical Group with special emphasis in technical-productive education, as an essential tool to develop human capital and boost productivity and competitiveness of PA economies.

Thirdly, education is enhanced through effective interaction between education and production sectors.
