Peru's national volleyball team defeated Cuba (3-2), following a dramatic comeback to earn its fourth consecutive victory at the U23 Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup taking place in Lima.
With this result, Peruvians sustain their undefeated streak.
Despite losing the first two sets with a tight score of 22-25 and 22-25, the national squad managed a staggering recovery and beat the Caribbean side in the following three (25-22), (25-15) and (18-16).
"We entered the court a bit more relaxed in the third set. We were not playing as a team, but then we started talking to each other and joined forces to fight for every ball. We are all working to win and qualify for a world cup. I think we can make it," declared Peru's Maguilaura Frias.
Previously, Peru beat Argentina (3-2) on Thursday. The Inca team conquered 3 out of 5 sets played (17-25, 26-24, 23-25, 27-25 and 17-15).
Peru will face the Dominican Republic today Friday at 17:30 [local time], the last match of the Cup's preliminary round.
