A development plan presented to Cotabambas residents will ensure qualitative growth across said province located in Andean Apurimac region, Peru's first Vice-President Martin Vizcarra announced on Thursday.

Said project was recently introduced by Peruvian Government officials to corresponding mayors and area inhabitants.

As is known, Cotabambas is Las Bambas mine's influence area.

"The meeting has been positive […]. We are focused on setting a development path for Cotabambas," Vizcarra stated.

"We are very hopeful, optimistic towards implementing this development model in a poor community, which holds a large mining investment, and thus support the whole influence area by reaching better socio-economic indicators," he indicated.

The Government last Wednesday said it had decided to prioritize 158 development plan projects in the province to benefit locals.

The Executive Branch's High-Level Commission is presided over by Vizcarra, who also serves as Transport and Communications minister.
