The Peruvian Development and Social Inclusion Ministry (Midis) has become the first Executive Branch body to be granted ISO 37001:2016 Certification for Anti-bribery Management Systems.
ISO 37001:2016 is the
International Organization for Standardization's globally-recognized standard which specifies requirements and provides guidance for establishing, implementing, maintaining, reviewing and improving an anti-bribery management system.
Midis thus earned international recognition for its commitment to the fight against corruption, as evidenced by its prevention of negative behavior.
Development and Social Inclusion Minister Fiorella Molinelli expressed her satisfaction with Midis' professional and quality work.
"This certification places us at the forefront of the government's anti-corruption policy. The implementation of a system like this one in a public institution such as Midis is proof that its staff is committed to a transparent job," she affirmed.
In this sense, the government official called on Midis personnel to carry on along the same work line and continue to raise the bar.
She urged her team to do so "always bearing in mind the positive impact our actions can have on the most vulnerable Peruvians, who need the State's presence and
support to leave poverty behind and enjoy a better quality of life."
"That is our ultimate goal," Molinelli pointed out.
In addition, Midis was granted ISO 9001:2015 Certification for Quality Management Systems in recognition of its development and social inclusion strategies and guidelines.
The standard also rewards the Ministry for its articulated efforts with other State bodies, as well as its role in the country's socio economic classification.
