Peru's youth volleyball squad defeated Uruguayan counterpart (3-0) on its debut at South American U20 Women's Championship taking place in Uberada on October 26-30.
The national team dominated the match since the beginning to win the three sets (25-17, 25-9 and 25-10).
Organized by South America's Volleyball Confederation, the event hosts six countries that will play in a round robin all-against-all format.
Peru will face Chile on Thursday.
The Inca team fights for qualification for the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship taking place in Boca del Rio and Cordoba (Mexico) on July 7-16 next year.
