Peru's Embassy in Italy manages the repatriation of 82 pre-Hispanic cultural objects previously held by a private collector based in Piedmont region.

Following an extensive legal proceeding, the Peruvian State was recognized as their rightful owner.

Ambassador to Rome Luis Iberico paid a visit to the region's Turin city, within the framework of the shipping process, currently in its final stage.

At the site, he verified the state and packaging of relics. Said artifacts belong to Nazca, Moche, Chancay and Recuay Cultures developed along Peru's Andes and coast centuries ago.

It must be noted the repatriation will be completed in the following weeks.

This achievement was possible thanks to articulated efforts by Culture and Foreign Affairs Ministries through the Peruvian Embassy in Rome and General Consulate in Turin.

To date, over 7,000 national cultural artifacts have been repatriated. Thus, the Inca nation is at the forefront on cultural property illicit trade control and recovery.
