Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises—MSMEs in clothing, carpentry, metal mechanic, handicrafts, footwear, and food industries will benefit from the Trans-Pacific Partnership—TPP agreement Peru is about to sign, Apevimes said today.

Apevimes General Manager Fredy Cervera said the TPP contains a chapter on SMEs, which includes MSEs to integrate them into the global trade, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism—Mincetur.

“This is an important agreement, because it will be a useful tool for our associated SMEs, which as already exporting, as well as for other SMEs that will find it easier to export their products abroad,” a Mincetur’s spokesman told Andina news agency.

Seven Productive Areas

Seven productive areas operating in the Vila El Salvador industrial park will take advantage of the TPP, such as metal casting, clothing, carpentry, metal mechanic, craftsmanship, footwear and food.

“More than 800 micro and small enterprises (MSEs) operating in Villa El Salvador will benefit from the TPP,” he stated.

It would be interesting if the State provided greater access to credits and training as well as further information on the countries where exports can be made.

TPP Member Countries

The 12 signing countries include Peru, the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico and Chile.
