Children have the right to a life without violence, which ensures a comprehensive development, the Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations Marcela (MIMP) Huaita affirmed.
The progress made by the State on its commitment to early childhood development is reflected in broader access to water supply, health, and education services.
"The joint work we've carried out reflects a series of efforts undertaken in health, education, access to water supply and sanitation, and also [reflects] the right to a life without violence. All of this will enable them [children] to be better prepared for learning and becoming socially included [...]," she added.
Statements were provided during the opening of the event titled "Reaffirmation of our commitment to Peru's Early Childhood," organized by the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Development (MIDIS).
Minister Huaita said MIMP has National Action Plan addressed to childhood and adolescence. It specifies the goals, which has been set to benefit children, as are the reduction in the rate of child undernutrition and the respect of children rights. The Ministry is working jointly with other State sectors to continue achieving these goals, she added.
The event, which gathers many regional government representatives, will boost the experience exchange with regard to the actions carried out in different parts of the country with the aim of improving the assistance and thus ensure the early childhood development.
Those attending this event were the President of the Council of Ministers, Pedro Cateriano; MIDIS Minister, Paola Bustamante; Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister, Milton von Hesse; Health Minister, Anibal Velasquez, and the Chairman of the National Assembly of Regional Governments, Cesar Acuña, among others.
