Peru beats China at Volleyball's U18 World Championship

Peru defeated China (3-1) at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship 2017 taking place in the cities of Rosario and Santa Fe from August 18-28.

The Inca team thus claimed its first triumph with the following scores: 27-17, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-18.

Peru's leading scorer was 15-year-old Thaisa Mc Leod (16 points), followed by Ariagna Linares (13), Kiara Montes (11) and Aixa Vigil (10).

Both countries' performances were on the same level with spikes (43-39) and unforced errors (29-32).

Coached by Marco Queiroga, the Inca squad grabbed its first 3 points and now ranks third in Pool D, followed by the Dominican Republic.

Peru will next face Turkey —first in its group— which comes from defeating the Dominican Republic (3-1), China (3-0) and Japan (3-1).
