The Peruvian Army delivered humanitarian aid to disaster-affected people from Piura's Lancones border district.

In this sense, at least 1000 citizens from the district's seven towns benefited from this initiative.

Those towns are Encuentros de Pilares, El Chailo, Jabonillos, Chorreras de Pulgueras, Cabuyo, Huasimal de los Encuentros and El Papayo.

Transported by a helicopter, donations included over four tons of products, including rice, sugar, oil drums, cans of tuna and other non-perishable food supplies.

Said aid delivery was led by Army General Wilson Jauregui.

At the site, said inhabitants affirmed they had been isolated from more than a week due to the overflowing of Venados ravine linking Peru and Ecuador.
