Cusco's jubilee month celebrations have been recently announced, portraying the biggest events in Cusco. June is a special month for the imperial city, and sees the most important festivals of its calendar.

Announcement took place at the Guardhouse, a thatched roofed building at the famous Peruvian citadel of Machu Picchu.

The ceremony featured Congressman Wilbert Rosas, Cusco's Mayor Carlos Moscoso, municipal authorities and National Police representatives.

Moscoso invited domestic and foreign visitors to participate in academic and cultural activities like the festivities of Cruz Velacuy, Corpus Christi, Lord of Qoyllorit'i, Inti Raymi, among others.

The main day is June 24, when the Inti Raymi ritual takes place. The Sun Festival is held the same day at Sacsayhuaman Fortress.

The launch event gathered more than 100 artists, including David Anka, who played the role of the Inca and spoke in Quechua to persuade attendees to join the celebrations.
