Peru's Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Eduardo Martinetti and Netherland's Chancellery Political Affairs Director-General Wim Geerts held a working session within the framework of the 3rd Policy Consultation Mechanism Meeting.
During the gathering, both nations agreed to reinforce bilateral relations.
Likewise, officials analyzed the existing potential in trade and investment sectors, especially in infrastructure development.
Moreover, they assessed outlooks for greater cooperation on logistics and port-related matters, as well as collaboration on issues such as the fight against organized crime and Peru's National Strategy against Drugs.
Martinetti expressed his gratitude to Netherlands for the support offered in favor of Peruvian participation at the OECD Country Programme and the Schengen visa waiver process.
At the same time, authorities agreed on the need to grant market access to Peruvian products, such as camu camu, sacha inchi, cañihua, huito, among others.
Both countries rely on a common commercial interest based on placing biodiverse products on the European market.
Wim Geerts' official visit to Peru is part of a South American tour including stops in both, Brazil and Colombia.
Peru and the Netherlands expect to reunite as UN Security Council non-permanent members in 2018.
