Peruvian Ambassador presents credential letters to Mauritania President

Peruvian Ambassador Carlos Polo Castañeda presented credential letters to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, the Andean country's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

The ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott on November 14.

Such credentials recognized the designation of Polo as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

On the occasion, the diplomat extended President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's greetings to the Mauritanian leader.

Likewise, he expressed the Peruvian Government's willingness to strengthen friendship and cooperation ties uniting both nations.

It must be noted Peru and Mauritania enjoy 25 years of diplomatic relations.  

Finally, Polo highlighted the Inca nation's eagerness to develop a bilateral agenda aimed at reinforcing economic and trade ties, as well as promoting cooperation mechanisms, particularly at the multilateral level, in terms of social development and fishing.
