Peru Ambassador presents credentials in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Peruvian Ambassador Maria Eugenia Echeverria presented her credential letters to Bosnia and Herzegovina's Chairman of the Presidency Dragan Covic.

The event took place in Sarajevo on December 4.

Such credentials recognized the appointment of Echeverria as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to said European country.

On the occasion, Covic expressed his Government's willingness to continue strengthening and diversifying the good relationship both countries enjoy.

Likewise, both personalities agreed to cooperate on areas such as agriculture, tourism, fight against drug-trafficking and terrorism, among others.

Concerning bilateral trade, they stressed Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union will contribute to boosting trade opportunities for their nations. As is known, Peru signed a Multiparty Trade Agreement with the European Union in 2012.

On her part, the diplomat thanked President Covic's recent decision of lifting the visa requirement for Peruvian citizens.

It must be noted Echeverria concurrently serves as Ambassador to Romania and Croatia.
