Peru: 500 German cruise ship visitors arrive in Ilo

A total of 500 German tourists reached Southern Ilo Port on board a cruise ship on Monday morning, city authorities informed.


According to the itinerary, the vessel arrived at Enapu harbor at 7:00 AM (local time). Immediately, visitors were welcomed with a high-quality tourism festival.


Afterwards, tourists walked around the city and visited other southern areas.

In statements to Andina news agency, Municipal Manager Rossmary Silva Acevedo said measures had been previously taken to provide a top-quality service to foreign travelers. 


In this sense, Silva stressed city Mayor William Valdivia had met with authorities involved in tourism promotion and citizen security.


Gatherings were aimed at articulating efforts to promote Moquegua region's top attractions.

As for security, Valdivia underlined articulated efforts had been taken in partnership with the local Migrations Office, National Police and Navy, as well as municipal authorities.
