Peru's First Vice-President Martin Vizcarra will take over the presidential office when President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski travels to Colombia.

As is known, the Head of State will attend the 12th Presidential Summit of the Pacific Alliance (PA) taking place in the city of Cali.

According to a supreme resolution published in the official newspaper El Peruano, Vizcarra will be in charge of the Andean country’s presidency while the top official is absent.

Within this framework, the Peruvian Commander-in-Chief will be overseas from June 29 to 30, 2017.

Mr. Kuczynski's visit overseas comes at the invitation of Colombian counterpart Juan Manuel Santos.

The gathering will feature four Heads of State (one from each Member State): Michelle Bachelet (Chile), Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia), Enrique Peña Nieto (Mexico) and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (Peru).

Likewise, Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna will participate in the bloc's 18th Council of Ministers Meeting taking place in Cali on June 29.

Pacific Alliance

The Pacific Alliance is a deep integration process uniting Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

The bloc fosters the free circulation of people, goods and services across its territories.

It also aims to harness the opportunities provided by economic and financial integration, thus guaranteeing solid and inclusive growth.
