The Government of Paraguay will send 11.6 tons of humanitarian assistance for victims of overflowing rivers and mudslides all over Peru.
According to Paraguayan IP news agency, such assistance includes food and cleaning products and will leave for Lima early on Sunday.
Paraguayan Government spokespersons said the aid is made up of 10 tons of food —which might secure families’ meals for up to 30 days— and 1.6 tons of cleaning supplies that can be distributed to 300 families.
Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes said the gesture proves his country’s solidarity with the Andean nation.
On the other hand, Paraguay's Minister of National Emergencies Joaquin Roa affirmed he will come to Lima to deliver the aid personally to Peruvian authorities.
As is known, Peru is currently being hit by natural disasters as a result of heavy rains, overflowing rivers and floods affecting citizens mainly in the northern and central areas of the country.
So far, Peru has received aid from Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, United States, Venezuela, the Vatican, among others.
