Lima, Nov. 10.
Peru's top striker Paolo Guerrero sent a message of encouragement to his teammates and assured them his heart is with the squad, so they will win the first World Cup-qualifying match against New Zealand in Wellington this Saturday.

As is known, Guerrero will be a high-profile absentee in the game against the All Whites.

The 33-year-old expressed his feelings by posting a message to fans on Facebook hours prior to such important match.

"My heart is with my team. Today I'm not going to able to be on the field, but I know they will play with blood, sweat, and tears for Peru," wrote the Flamengo star.

Guerrero will be the main element missing in the Inca squad, as he has been temporarily suspended by governing body FIFA for producing abnormal doping test result.

Thus, the top striker's lawyers requested a counter-test and issued a precautionary measure petition so the athlete would play the final Peru-New Zealand playoff match.

Matches

The first leg of Peru-New Zealand FIFA World Cup intercontinental playoff tie will take place at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on November 11 at 4:15 PM (local time).

The return leg will be held at Lima's National Stadium (Peru) on November 15 at 9:15 PM (local time).

Following both clashes, it will be known —finally— if Peruvians return to a World Cup after 35 years.
