Presidents of Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, all members of the Pacific Alliance, will talk about the bloc’s future projection in terms of economic integration during their participation in the Presidential Summit in Paracas city.

The dialogue will be based on the previous works undertaken by the Pacific Alliance High Level Group and ministers of member states.

The perspective taken on the issue will be expressed in the Paracas Declaration, a document to be issued at the end of the meeting.

Peru’s Ollanta Humala, Chile’s Michelle Bachelet, Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos and Mexico’s Jose Peña Nieto will gather at the said summit, whose perspective is an opportunity for member countries’ heads of states to assess the progress made in the last year and announce new mandates.

The Pacific Alliance is an economic and trade integration mechanism that seeks to build a deep integration area to achieve free movement of goods, services, capitals and people; as well as to promote greater growth, development and competiveness of its economies.

Furthermore, it is aimed at becoming an economic, trade integration platform with worldwide projection and special emphasis on the Asia- Pacific region.

In addition to member states, Panama and Costa Rica are two observer states that have expressed interest in joining the Alliance.

The bloc has 30 observer countries from North America, Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Europe.
