Fuerza Popular leader Keiko Fujimori gets 42.3% support, while her rival for Peruanos por el Kambio (PPK), Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, was backed by 40.1% of respondents in the latest presidential preference survey by CPI.
The poll, conducted prior to the scheduled June 5 runoff, considers the votes cast and states that 8.7% of the electorate would cast blank and invalid votes, whereas 8.9% of voters do not know yet which party they will support at the presidential election.
According the study, most Fujimori supporters (41.3%) live in inland areas, while former Economy Minister’s biggest support (49.1%) comes from the capital city, Lima.
Likewise, Fujimori gets more support from women (44.4%) than PPK leader (38.1%).
As for socioeconomic levels, Alberto Fujimori’s daughter would obtain 47.6% of votes from the D/E sector, while Kuczynski’s largest support comes from A/B (65.2%) and C (44.8%) sectors.
Fujimori and Kuczynski’s rejection rates stood at 43.6% and 43.5%, respectively.
