The Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Charles Bolden, met with Peruvian students and researchers in Lima and imparted uplifting words to urge them pursue their dreams and objectives in life.

During the meeting, the US astronaut shared his experiences and scientific knowledge about space and the planetary system.

“When you go to the space, you become aware of the impotence of life in the planet,” he noted when asked about his life experiences.

Bolden encouraged Peruvians to get interested in science and get ready to embark on projects and research initiatives.

“Work hard, focus on what you are doing so that you can achieve your goals,” Bolden told attendees.

He talked about NASA’s current projects, including its plan to send humans to Mars in the 2030s and the usage of new technologies in outer space.

The event took place at Universidad Tecnologica del Peru (Technological University of Peru - UTP) facilities in the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Peru, Brian A. Nichols and recipients of a US Embassy scholarship.
